Many of the projects I’m involved with in my day to day work are protected by NDA’s so it was refreshing and exciting to be able to work on CocoJet, an open collaboration between The Hershey Company and 3D Systems with my team at McNamara Design acting as the development team for 3D Systems.
The CocoJet received a lot of attention at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It was great seeing other people enjoy the hard work we had put in.
I served as the project lead at McNamara Design for this collaboration, regularly meeting with leaders at 3D Systems and The Hershey Company. Within our team, my main responsibility was for the electrical and firmware design for the print head controller and testing of the overall machine, although I also did much of the early mechanical design for the system.
